It is a condition of membership of the Association that members strive to be informed of the latest and best practice within education and implement this within the running of their Centres.

The Centre heads forming the core of the membership are managing the longest established Centres, some dating back to the 1950’s. These established institutions, while leading the way in terms of ideas and quality of provision, have a long tradition of safe practice. They contribute to the current debate implemented through the Department for Education and Skills and the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority.

A small recent survey of 7 schools taken 6 months after a typical visit shows some of the longer term benefits which were noticed by teachers.
